Description

Scenes from the funeral of Sergeant-Major George Ash on 11 March 1915. A procession of soldiers moves down a cobbled street lined with spectators. Soldiers form a guard of honour for the coffin which is carried from the horse-drawn hearse into the church. Civilians and soldiers follow the coffin inside.
