Description

Short documentary film using contemporary interviews and archival footage to tell the story of the Italian makers and vendors of ice cream in Manchester. Descendants from early ice cream vendors and their customers describe how ice cream businesses in Manchester were established and gained respectability amongst the local community. Stories are shared about early ice cream carts, penny licks, the invention of the ice cream cone and recognisable jingles. Manchester and Cheshire businesses that are mentioned include Sivori's, Granelli's, Marco Rea's, Gerard's and more.
