Description |
The new guidon is presented by her Majesty the Queen at Stonyhurst College in Blackburn on the 18th October 1990. The video begins with preparations for the Royal visit with seating, catering, policing and the soldiers putting on their ceremonial uniforms. The various regiments march behind the Queen's Lancashire Regimental band. The Queen arrives in the Royal car then takes her place on a dais while the national anthem is played. The Queen then inspects the troops before they retire the old guidon with an elaborate marching display. The chaplain consecrates the new guidon then the Queen formally hands it to the regiment before giving an address. The regiment give three cheers then with the old comrades march past the Queen. The Queen then enters the college and visits the library, signs the visitors book before departing with a cavalry escort. |
