Description |
Scenes in Liverpool during the Charter Year of 1957, celebrating the 750th Anniversary of the city. Decorated streets in the centre with a procession to the town hall and views around the University and various parks. A display of country dancing in Newsham Park is followed by scenes from the Queen Mother's visit on 25th June and she is seen at William Brown Library to mark the commencement of rebuilding work following WWII. The Liverpool FC team are seen training during the 1970s, with brief scenes of Kevin Keegan, a match at Anfield against Everton, and Bill Shankly on a suburban street. The film ends with two ladies walking on Otterspool Promenade. |
