Description |
Film of a tree planting ceremony in Cuerden Park near Whittle -le - Woods. Eighty oak trees are planted to commemorate the Queen Mother's 80th birthday and National Tree Planting Week. Children from Clayton - le - Woods C of E Primary School are seen walking into the park, and preparing to plant the trees, one boy is interviewed. Sir Frank Pearson is seen arriving, he makes a speech and plants a tree, the children plant their trees. Various officials and teachers are also present from the Central Lancashire Development Corporation (now known as English Partnerships). As everyone leaves the park part of Sir Frank's speech is heard again. Closes with a close-up of a tree. |
