Description

The background to, design and construction of, and official opening of the William Thompson Recreation Centre in Burnley, made possible by a local philanthropist's donation. Includes scenes of office and building work, the foundation stone being laid by Walter Winterbottom CBE, the official opening with dignitaries in 1974, and the new Centre in use by the public.
