Description

On 12 August 1985 a large picket outside the Daily Mail Offices on Deansgate, Manchester of about 50 people, many Asian women, in response to an article about arranged marriages. A woman on the picket talks about her reaction to the Daily Mail and how the Government's Primary Purpose rule acts against Asian women, forcing the deportation of their husbands and fiances. She talks about the reaction of the whole community to the suggestion by the newspaper that Asian families are selling their daughters. Also an interview with a white man about his reaction. One of the campaigners talks about the campaign and what their plans are - right of reply.
