Description

Follows the work of Sam and John Bradley of Pepper Hill Pottery, Northowan, Calderdale, Yorkshire. Clay is dug and collected from clay beds then washed, sieved and channelled into a settling pit. The film switches to inside the potters' workshop where the clay is shovelled into a pug mill for kneading. There are shots of the glazing process and the fire for the kiln being prepared. A variety of objects are stacked in a kiln. The film ends with clay being worked and shaped by one of the potters at his wheel.
