Description |
Opens with footage of the HMS Ambuscade, a Royal Navy frigate, docking at Birkenhead with commentary explaining its links with Crewe. Cuts to the interior of Crewe Town Hall where civic dignitaries and sailors give speeches. Continues with the conferment of the freedom of the borough outside the Town Hall. The sailors are seen marching through the streets of Crewe, watched by crowds, before footage of the HMS Ambuscade leaving Birkenhead closes the video. (A version of the video without commentary, titles and music exists on the master copy of the tape following the completed version of the film). |
