Description

Scenes from the 1973 Remembrance Day service held at Thornton Cleveleys War Memorial. In the next scene the Bishop of Lancaster visits St Helen's Church in Churchtown where he meets the confirmation candidates. The children of St Andrew's Sunday school attend a family service in church with their mothers and grandmothers for Mothering Sunday. Procession Queen Nicola also attends the service along with her Prince Charming. On Easter Sunday the clergy and youth of the church enjoy breakfast together after the morning mass. Guests arrive at the church for the wedding of Judith and Bill. The bridesmaids arrive soon followed by the bride and her father. Members of the Mothers Union board a bus for a trip to Tatton Park. Many male members of St Andrew's church attend the Meeting of Men at King George's Hall in Blackburn. A parade takes place in Cleveleys including a brass band, cheerleaders and St Andrews Queen. Members of St Andrews Church attend an exhibition called 'Bible Days and Bible Ways' at Bispham Parish Church. On their annual trip, the youth of the church chose to visit Buxton. On the lawn of the vicarage, a group from Germany perform traditional folk dancing. The group then make their way to the coach to return home. In the next scene the St Andrews Sunday School procession takes place around Cleveleys. In July 1974 Karen Stubbs was crowned the Sunday School Queen. The film ends with the children bringing fruit and flowers to the church for the Harvest Festival.
