Description

The visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Bury on 20th May 1938. Opens with shots of the waiting crowds in the town centre. Soldiers arrive at the war memorial and there is a presentation of new colours to the 'Old Contemptibles' by the mayor of Bury. The royal party arrive and the King inspects the guard of honour before a line of people are presented to the royals. Concludes with the soldiers and a military band marching off past the camera.
