Description |
Members of the local Swiss community receive a civic welcome at Towneley Hall, Burnley, and visit Whalley Abbey. After shots of the war memorial in Towneley Park, people gather in the rain outside Towneley Hall to sing songs and to hear the mayor of Burnley and Professor Jean Inebnit speak. The film cuts to shots of Whalley Church and the River Calder before the Swiss nationals visit Whalley Abbey where they enjoy a picnic, take photographs and listen to a boys' choir. Includes mid reel titles relating to Lancashire witches. |
