Description

An official nation-wide campaign to protest against the Conservative government's impending new regulations regarding young people on the dole and in private accommodation which has the potential of making many young people homeless. Film of the campsite on Deansgate in Manchester with young people petitioning passers-by, explaining the legislation, its impact and getting people to sign the petition. Young people speak about their experiences of being homeless, how SHADES helped them and the success of the campaign. A passer-by talks to camera about his reaction to the proposals and the need for a radical change. A number of interviews and footage of young people organising the campaign and graffiti surrounding the campsite. Campfire burning and a rainbow in the sky.
