Description

Opens with footage of mourners boarding horse-drawn carriages. Cuts to pall bearers carrying the coffin of Chief Constable John Snell down a crowd lined street. A clergyman, the Rev. W.J. Parry, is seen leading the cortège into the church grounds of St James on Union St Ashton, before the carriages deliver the remaining mourners, who also enter the grounds. An open carriage full of wreaths is seen prior to the funeral procession leaving the church grounds. The coffin is carried by carriage up Penny Meadow and into Mossley Rd, flanked by crowds, preceded by a marching band and policemen.
