Description |
Scenes from two Rose Queen festivals, including processions through suburban streets with floats, brass bands, scouts and cheerleaders. On the festival field, after the Rose Queen’s crowning and speeches to the assembled onlookers, there are refreshment stalls and activities including children’s races, a fancy dress competition, an informal game of football, a tombola, skittles, and donkey rides. The reel ends with the blessing of a foundation stone on the site for a new Roman Catholic church. |
