The treatment of a particular patient at High Carley tuberculosis sanatorium near Ulverston - he is shown arriving at the station, being admitted, examined and x-rayed, and a microscope slide of the tubercule germ is seen. The patient visits the dentist and is shown, with the other patients, participating in the routines of the hospital - treatment, rest and nourishing meals; work and exercise in the grounds in the form of building stables, poultry-keeping, croquet etc.; indoor recreation such as cards and billiards, music etc. The man is cured and leaves, and the final scenes are of children in the sanatorium, having lessons, treatment etc.
