Description |
The film opens with an open air community event. People eat ice creams bought from a nearby ice cream van and some people drink pints of beer. There are children's running and sack races and they bob for apples and eat current buns hanging from ropes (hot cross buns?). We then see a birthday celebration. People sit down to a meal, they have plates of meat and vegetables and the men drink pints of beer. The plates are cleared away and cups of tea are distributed and some people drink sherry. We then see a party with people sitting around talking and drinking. Flowers are presented to the lady whose birthday it is, and she cuts a large cake with lots of candles on it. We then see Peter and Pat's wedding. The guests arrive, followed by the bridesmaids and then the bride. After the wedding people mill about, the wedding party pose for photos and confetti is thrown. The bride and groom leave by car, and then the rest of the guests leave too. We then see the wedding reception, we see the guests seated at their tables and the cutting of the wedding cake. |
