Description

Scenes inside the Vulcan foundry in Newton-le-Willows. A locomotive's valve gear is inspected during rolling road testing before there are travelling high angle shots of the erecting shop. A cast is removed from a furnace and there are shots of a locomotive being manouevred through the air by an overhead crane. A locomotive made for Nigeria leaves the foundry on a low loader and after further crane shots, the film ends with an engine's steam test and workers riveting.
