Description

A beautifully shot, leisurely paced film which blends a look at the traditional pastime of fishing for Arctic char in the waters of Lake Windermere with an important and topical environmental message. Fisherman Dr Peter Haslam goes out on the lake to show how to catch this rare fish, and the film also considers external factors such as global warming and chemical pollution and how these have affected the water and the char population. Potter Martin Miles-Moore demonstrates how to make a traditional char pot, and Michelin star chef Kevin Tickle prepares and serves up the fish at the Forest Side restaurant in Grasmere.
