Description |
Pupils from Eyam Primary School present a short film about their ‘plague village’ in Derbyshire. Eyam acquired its memorable nickname by putting itself into quarantine in 1666, isolating itself to contain the infection which had reached it when the epidemic of Bubonic plague was sweeping through the country. At the start of the 21st century, though, the young inhabitants of Eyam are keen to show that their home is not just a place of historical interest but a thriving community with a lot to offer. |
