Description |
The Queen and Prince Philip arrive at Barrow-in-Furness shipyard for the launch of HMS Sheffield, a navy destroyer, on 10 June 1971. After being shown around and presented with a bouquet by twin sisters, the Queen launches the ship. Once the ship is safely in the water, the keel of a new ship being built for the Argentine Navy, the Hercules, is swung into place on the slipway. |
