Description

A film about the use of Crossley engines in locomotives, with a history of railway propulsion and a description of the Crossley firm's development of increasingly powerful engines for trains. There are shots of Crossley's factory complex in Openshaw, footage of an engine being produced, and the film ends with shots of a shunting engine in action.
