Description

Scenes showing student activities and teacher training at Elizabeth Gaskell College. Begins with exterior shots of the college, followed by students in the college library, common room and cafeteria. Institutional management students are seen taking classes in accounting, food science and on a work placement in the kitchens and wards of Hope Hospital. Footage includes classes in catering, dress-making and ceramics. Students conduct lessons with local school children during their teacher training. A brief sequence shows an outdoor field trip to the Lake District. Ends with shots of college accommodation at Parrswood and Greystone Hall, a graduation ceremony at Whitworth Hall and students relaxing in the grounds.
