Description |
The film opens with scenes of a military band and soldiers marching through Bury town centre. Crowds have gathered to catch a glimpse of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth during their Royal visit to Bury. Later in the film there is a presentation of the new colours to the 'Old Contemptibles' by the mayor of Bury. The royal party arrive and shake hands with the mayor and civic dignitaries before the King inspects the Guard of Honour where he is escorted by Lt. Colonel J.K. Hopkinson. Next is the presentations, where the King and Queen greet and shake hands with various people. |
