Description

A film about the education of pupils at Birtenshaw Hall Special School in Bolton. After a brief history of the school, the film describes the difficulties faced by the children, who have cerebral palsy, a condition which affects the brain's ability to control and co-ordinate movement. Science lessons are observed, and there are scenes of physiotherapy and swimming. There is a speech therapy session, an art lesson, sewing and cookery and footage of a sports day. The film ends with Christmas celebrations.
