Description

A look at the work of a cooper at Greenall Whitley's brewery in Wilderspool, Warrington. After opening scenes of sterilised barrels being filled with beer and leaving the brewery for the pub cellar, the film follows the stages of producing and testing a wooden barrel. The cooper uses specialist tools and a craftsman's skill to create the finished article, which is then tested for capacity before the film ends with scenes inside a pub.
