Description

Scenes of the village of Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales, followed by campaigning in Burnley for the 1950 General Election. Scenes from Hawes include the exteriors of Wensleydale Dairy and the Methodist Church (where a notice advertises a forthcoming film show from Sam Hanna). After shots of pigs in a pen, the film cuts to the streets of Burnley where Frank Wilson (Conservative) is seen with his team, distributing campaign literature to bus passengers, talking to the public and addressing a crowd in Burnley market from his loudspeaker van.
