Description

Looks at the fitting of electrical facilities for the new runway at Speke Airport - includes the building of generator and switch-room buildings, the laying of cable and runway lights, and the construction of a lighting gantry out into the Mersey. The Duke of Edinburgh attends the opening ceremony on 7 May 1966, and the first flight, a 707 to New York, is seen taking off.
