Description |
Documentary about Manchester community activist, Kath Locke who died in 1992 - produced to mark the 50th anniversary of the Pan-African Congress in Manchester in 1995. The film covers her upbringing and experiences growing up in Blackpool as well as the events that inspired her political awareness and community activism - including the 5th Pan African Congress in Manchester in 1945. People who worked with, and have been inspired by her are featured, including Diane Watt, Alima Soni, Shirley Innis and Yvonne Hypolite from the Abasindi Women's Co-operative. Archive film and photographs help to tell the story. |
