Pageant at Brookfield Church in Gorton to mark the Festival of Britain which recreates significant events in the history of the Unitarian Church. Events depicted include King James I interrogating Bartholomew Legate, a martyr burned at Smithfield; John Bidle in jail in 1647; the Great Ejection of 1662; and the laying of the Foundation Stone of Gorton Chapel in 1702. Also included is a procession of the local Rose Queens. |
