Description

George VI and Queen Elizabeth visit Liverpool where they are presented to Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Liverpool, Alderman Michael Cory Dixon and Mrs Dixon, Town Clerk Mr W H Baines; Chief Constable Mr A K Wilson; chairman of Education Committee Councillor C.G.S. Gordon, and the Director of Education Mr C.F. Mott. They then see boys and girls give a gymnastic display at Wavertree. The King inspects the Royal Naval Volunteer Rescue presenting a Guard of Honour before entering Liverpool Town Hall with people photographing. King presents new colours to 5th Batallion King's Regiment (Liverpool), the Liverpool Scottish (Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders) at Everton football ground where marching bands appear.
