Compilation of three newsreel stories featuring Merseyside - "£1,000,000 estimated damage caused by fire at Liverpool docks," - shots of the aftermath and onlookers surveying the smoking wreckage. This is followed by Mr Gadsby the one-legged swimmer's parachute drop into the Mersey - views of the biplane, a birds-eye view of the landscape, and his landing. Finally, "Wallasey's 1st Freeman Lord French's reception at New Brighton Tower" - Lord French talks with military officers and local dignitaries, and is saluted by a line of sailors. |
