A project partnership between WFA and the Northern Consortium of Textile Museums, a group of textile technology museums in the North of England, this film was one of a series designed to preserve textile machinery skills for the future by demonstrating and explaining the use of these old textile machines. To be used in conjunction with specialist training manuals, this film demonstrates the operation of the Hopper and Scutcher at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester including the Carding Engine, Draw Frames, Intermediate and Roving Frames and 2 appendices, Doffing and Ring Spinning. |
