Description |
A detailed record of the construction of the church extension, beginning with exterior shots of the building in March 1956. Materials are delivered, and, when the snow has gone, building work begins in earnest, including steelwork, concrete mixing, bricklaying and roofing. Then the work on the interior - plastering, glazing and floor laying – takes place. New turf is laid outside, roses are planted, and decorating volunteers head into the building with their paint pots. Finally there are shots of the finished building, two women set about felling a tree, and we see some of the other people involved with the project, including the architect. |
