Description

The Ridings on a tour of Burma taking in the site for the Burma Pharmaceutical Industry [BPI]. Their journey begins in Duseldorf and after a refueling stop they arrive in Burma where they take in the sights of the Burmese Independance Day celebrations. Next they visit the Shwedagon Pagoda, watch a polo match and visit the rural BPI site which is being cleared by mechanical diggers. More sightseeing trips to the Irrawaddy river and the dead city of Pagan with its many temples are followed by hotel and market scenes. In 1958 Mr Riding returns to the now completed BPI site and films the new buildings and its staff before going on a tour of India taking stops at Kasauli, New Delhi, Agra, Hydrabad and Bombay. He then visits Karachi the capital city of Pakistan before ending his holiday in Italy with visits to Rome, St. Peters and Florence
