Description |
Scenes showing the people of Chadderton at a Procession of Witness, Whit Sunday and a Sunday School Anniversary from the Parish Church of Emmanuel and St George's District. The Salvation Army band (the Oldham Citadel Band) girl guides, boy scouts and members of the church community (dressed in their Sunday best) are seen walking in procession. The church choir, brass band and a conductor perform hymns on the street. Includes high angle views of the procession. Continues with a Sunday School Anniversary showing a procession of young children with flowers walking along the street (disused air raid shelters in the background) to the Parish Church. Ends with footage of the congregation, choir and organist attending a church service. |
