Description

Crowds gather in Bury town centre for the arrival of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth who are visiting as part of a Royal tour. The film cuts to the presentation of the new colours to the 'Old Contemptibles' by the mayor of Bury, councillor O.L.W. Whitehead. The King and Queen arrive and are greeted by the mayor and civic dignitaries. The King inspects the Guard of Honour, escorted by Lt. Colonel J.K. Hopkinson. Next is the presentations, where the King and Queen greet and shake hands with various people. The film ends with shots of a military band and soldiers marching through Bury town centre.
