Description |
Preparations and Rose Queen procession through the streets of Rochdale are followed by a horse-drawn Makenson's brewers cart making its way out of the yard and up a hill. A woman is seen playing with dog and child in front of a row of terraced houses and a brief view of a carousel at a fairground is followed by a family day trip to Hollingworth lake. Street scenes follow including shots of Rochdale Town Hall and the Regal Cinema. [Another procession makes its way past the old town hall in Oldham and is followed by Morris dancers. The closing scenes of the film show a mayoral procession in 1954 including members of the 41st Royal Tank Regiment Oldham and assorted shots follow showing snowy street scenes. |
