Description |
A compilation reel of films made by members of the Warrington Cine Society. Crowds gather to place their bets and watch the horse racing in Daresbury. 'Another Cinema for Warrington' - shows the construction of the new Ritz Cinema in Warrington. In Pickmere, a man sits in a mini steam boat, we also see a close up of the engine. Episode one of 'The Screaming Spectre of Bloodshot Manor' - a short film where the two characters are killed off and viewers are invited to apply for character parts in episode two. The film cuts to Chester Zoo, where we see a variety of animals. A mother and her young child feed the pigeons. In the next segment we see the demolition of concrete supports at the Warrington gasworks site. Due to a shortage of sand in Southport, men have to bring in carloads of sand from elsewhere. In the next scene we see Blackpool illuminations as well as the lights Warrington has to offer. Members of the 'Model Aircraft Society' meet in Orford to display and fly their model aeroplanes. The compilation reel ends with a short film about a dog who finds money to buy himself an ice cream! |
