Description |
Opening with shots of mechanical diggers clearing rubble this film centres on redevelopment in Beswick. People are seen removing furniture from condemned houses. A group of boys are seen struggling to move a table - they saw its legs off, allowing it to fit through a window and transport it on a pram. Children are seen playing amongst rubble and playing football in a street. An elderly woman provides an emotive commentary, bemoaning the destruction of community spirit. Closes with footage of children building a bonfire and then standing near it, at night, waving sparklers. |
