Description |
Footage from the 1950/1 football season where Preston North End secured promotion to the First Division. Crowds are seen at Preston station, awaiting the return of the team from their 3-3 draw against Southampton, the game which secured their promotion. Supporters queue at Deepdale to watch PNE play Hull City, followed by views of the game itself. Preston won 1-0, but Tom Finney's winning goal is not seen. Presentation of the shield, and scenes from a 1952 Preston Guild festival match versus Red Star Belgrade are also shown. |
