Description

Workers for Pemberton and Carlyon Civil and Marine Dismantlers perform demolition and ship-breaking work at the Mersey Docks and Runcorn with the aid of cranes and oxy-acetylene torches. Opens with work on the remains of HMS Eaglet at Garston and the demolition of Wiggs Works in Runcorn. Back at the Mersey docks, a landing stage is dismantled and a crane lifts girders away. At Birkenhead docks, a floating crane loads a pontoon into the hold of a cargo ship. Ends with the removal of cranes situated on the North East Queens Dock Sheds.
