A detailed look at the manufacture of fur felt hats at Jackson's of Stockport. From the fur being prepared, right through to the finished product, the film shows each stage of the process - shaping, shrinking, making the brim and sewing in the linings. The finished products are packed up and loaded onto horse and cart for distribution to Jackson's 80 outlets across the UK.

This film, along with thousands of others from across the country, can also be viewed online as part of BFI: Britain on Film - player.bfi.org.uk/britain-on-film/
