Description

1983 Peoples March for Jobs - marchers gather by their banner and depart from Burnley's Transport and General Union headquarters. They make running repairs to their feet and listen to speeches by a representative of the National Unemployed Centres as part of the Charter for the Unemployed. Very underexposed shots (due to lighting conditions) of marchers dancing indoors. The March continues into Blackburn, with more speeches. After a break in the video we have an event held at the Higher Folds Community Centre in Leigh, all of which is mute unfortunately. It begins with a children's event then live music from local band Watt, another children's event with a group of singers/performers on stage and a look at three adults drinking and taking part in a lucky dip at the bar.
