Description

King George VI and Queen Elizabeth are seen visiting the people of Warrington on 7th March 1945. School children line the streets and wave flags as the royal cavalcade travels slowly past. The Mayor of Warrington and other civic dignitaries, greet the King and Queen as they get out of the car. The royal party stand on the steps outside the town hall address the crowd. Also features footage of a military parade including shots of a brass band, troops and nurses.
