Description |
A travelogue on Chester - a policeman directs traffic in a busy street. People are shopping and passing by and there is plenty of traffic. We see Chester Rows, Bridge Street, Bridgegate; then to the River Dee with pleasure boats and the Eccleston Ferry. We see houses on the banks and Eaton Hall. There are many examples of Tudor style timbered buildings, shots of salmon fishing, the city walls, King Charles' Tower, the Bridge of Sighs, Edgar's cave and other historic sites. We see Roman columns from the Praetorium and an amphitheatre is described with a model. There is a long sequence on Chester Cathedral, followed by other interesting houses, including God's Providence House and Bishop Lloyd's House. Closes with shots from the river looking towards the city. |
