Description

Film about activities at Abel Street School in Burnley. After a school assembly, there is footage of a boy binding books and general classroom activity and woodwork tasks. The film cuts to a school visit to a coal mine (believed to be Bank Hall Pit) followed by action from a schoolboy football match at Turf Moor stadium, a school sports day involving a variety of races and a swimming gala at North Street Baths. The film ends with footage of boys diving from a board into the pool, which includes some reverse action shots.
