Description |
This is a film about 'Homer', a Deep Ocean Vertical Profiler developed by the Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory at Bidston Observatory. We learn all about how Homer was developed and what the scientists are hoping to learn from the data Homer will collect. We see a prototype being tested at the Blue Planet Aquarium and then we see Homer's first deployment on June 20th 2001 at Loch Etive in Scotland. The first deployment is a success and the film ends with still images of the people who contributed to this success. |
