Description

Scenes in Zambia (Northern Rhodesia at the time), including a royal visit and construction work, followed by the Queen's 1978 Maundy visit to Carlisle. The Queen Mother lays the foundation stone for the new Anglican Cathedral in Lusaka in 1957 and there is footage of the city's new High Court Building and the Queen's Birthday Parade. In the Zambian countryside there are shots of a village and its workers, and clearing and construction work for a Hydroelectric dam project. In Carlisle, the Queen features in a procession alongside dignitaries and clergymen as onlookers wave flags. Ends with a group of schoolchildren on a picnic and shots of a coastline taken from a yacht.
