Description

Shot from two different fixed points, the film features a parade of locomotives including ‘Leander’, ‘Evening Star’, ‘Golden Arrow’, ‘Sir Nigel Gresley’, ‘Drysllwyn Castle’, ‘Princess Elizabeth’, ‘Flying Scotsman’, and ‘Western Courier’. Crowds of rail enthusiasts turn out for this historic event, people in historic costume are photographed in front of the ‘Duchess of Hamilton’, and there is footage shot from a train making the journey from Liverpool to Manchester.
